My experience with animals is the week of the school field trips. We went to the zoo. At the zoo the monkeys where running around. The Lesser White-Nosed Geunon for example went in and out of cages will eating some food. This is the first time that I had ever been so close to monkeys before. The monkey was grooming each other and feeding on some ripe fruit. The thing at the zoo that was very exciting was that this big bird that kept following me. This was a big bird that was about 4 ft tall and it kept coming after me. Every time I turned around the bird would come closer, but when I turned back to get something from my bag it would back off. One time it just stayed there and I got really close to it, I thought it was going to peck me like it pecked a lady that was walking by. Another experience during the week of field trips was the time I went to the MacRitchie Reservior. We went there to observe the Long-tailed Macaques. When we were there, the first monkey we encountered started walking towards us and kept following us. It looked as the monkey was looking for some food. Then the last encounter of monkeys we saw there were three monkeys that were playing a "game." There was this one monkey that had a bottle and was trying to keep it away from the monkeys that were trying to get it from it. Then something really interesting happened, the monkey the bottle and hit the other monkeys on the head with it! I thought that this was really amazing. | ||||||||||||||||
